Well the ckeck was in the mail last week I just didn't know it yet. My buddy was in more of a hurry than me. He's been sitting on his front porch watching the 5 fox pups across the road and getting edgey. They are cute to watch but momma has got the mange so they'll just make targets later. As to the logistics, he said it would make more sence to send the brass this way and that takes the learning (or burning) out of the equation. We want to set it up and bolt it down in a permanent fashion with the torch(s) mounted and all. Of course we'll have to mess up some of our brass first to get it right. The two wheels we ordered will do 204 223 22-250 243 308 so I'm guessing it will do any thing a #1 and #16 shell holder fits with torch hieght adjustments. As to the Aug. trip to K.C. I don't see us making that trip but a day or two shooting and swaping lies over a beer or two sounds like fun. Maybe up in heart city with a couple bputs on the grill. LOL

I'd doubt you would have much risk if you first reduce the load as mentioned but even then it would only be an issue if you were approaching maximum load. There seems to be little issue for large rifle primers though. It seems Jim Calhoon is a bit of a primer expert. You could contact him for a second opinion. You could contact him for a second opinion. Check out the primer
article in his informative articles section at
http://www.jamescalhoon.com for a good article. An excerpt from the
    end of it is:

What does all this mean to the
    reloader?

- Cases that utilize small rifle primers and
operate at moderate pressures(40,000 psi) should use CCI 400, Federal
200, Rem 6 1/2, or Win SR. Such cases include 22 CCM, 22 Hornet and the
218 Bee. These primers are also used in heavy handguns such as the
9mm., 357, etc. Other cases that use the small rifle primer can use the
above primers only if moderate loads are used. Keep to the lower end of
    reloading recommendations.

- Cases that utilize Small
Rifle primers and operate at higher pressures (55,000 psi) should use
    CCI 450, CCI BR4, Fed 205 and Rem 7 1/2.

- With large
rifle primers all being the same thickness, choose a primer that makes
the most accurate group, is the shiniest, cheapest or whatever, as they
    all have similar pressure capabilities.

Hope this clears up
some primer confusion. If you wnat more information about primers,
priming compounds, or even how to make primers, the NRA sells an
excellent book called "Ammunition Making" by George Frost . This book
tells it like it is in the ammo making industry.

Any

    Fri., 8-5 MST).
Well, I've been able to put in some range time with my RRA. As far as factory stuff- the Remington functions fine, but grouped like a drunk mallard with a slingshot. The Hornady grouped great, but it lacked sufficient gumption to cycle the action... single shot AR's kinda suck (short stroking). In searching for a remedy, RRA recommended buying a bullet puller and reloading the Hornady ammo. Hornady said, "Oops, we've been hearing that a lot. But, we're working on a new AR-15 load. See if you can give your unshot ammo to a friend." A guy named Walt at Fulton Armory said, "Hmm, shoulda bought from us, sorry". then it came down to a Nuke Engineer out at Pantex who gave me a short/light buffer from a M-4 AR. Darn thing works great! Those nuke guys... they think they know it all. Ticks me off when they don't give me any reason to doubt 'em. Anyway, right or wrong- it is a solution, and I haven't had to sit down and pick AR parts out of my teeth and eye sockets- so that's a good thing. I was getting 1" 3-shot groups off of a hasty bench at 100yds with a 5-10mph tail wind, 20% humidity, and 72-75 degrees. Look out yotes.

A half-grain sounds about right. Magnum primers will often give higher
pressures, though not always. Differences between brands of primers
often have greater differences than the difference between standard and
magnum primers of the same brand.

If I were doing this, I'd
drop the charge about 1.5 grain and work up.

<a

comparative info on a few primers.
So is this deal something that others can get in on or a local/one time thing? I'm looking for a good deal on primers myself. Thanks.

I used a mouth call to get his attention out at 300 yds. or so then switched to a slate. I don't seem to do a very soft mouth call so when they get closer I don't want to make 'em run from the 600lb. hen. At first light I was tucked into a cedar with a wood pile under it but when they flew down they all went out into the pasture the other way, so I crawled over to a hay bale to get a 20 on 'em. Funny part is I was working on that tom and a hen brought me another tom from the back side. There I was with my gun leaning on the bale 3ft. away. "Busted" At least the big boy didn't see them or things might not have worked out.
