"Don discovered a major crow roost near town-a rare thing-and after shooting it up the first night himself, the two of us went back the next evening to see what we could do together. I had about twenty silhouette decoys that I'd made, and I put them on the ground off the point of the bush. Don covered one side of the corner and I covered the other. We were lucky in that the crows came in in twos and threes that evening and we were able to bag 60-something before it got too dark to shoot (Don just over 40, and me just over 20). We went out the next morning on our way out for another day of crow shooting but stopped here to gather what we could for this picture. That's when we counted them."
