Texas 98 PD Shoot (Dan & Kelvin)

(click on photos for full view)

We were on a 3 day shooting spree in west Texas when we found this spot.

The green bush on the road is about 320 yards away from where we had the truck. They are hard to see, but under the back of the truck we put my custom jack stands that helped steady the truck. They screw up into a hole in the spring hangers.

A few miles away we took this shot. There is a small rise behind us. This area was slow with only a few shots per hour. We left at noon.

Our next stop was near a holding pen for cattle. The rancher had just sent them off to market. Here we are kicked back having lunch.

The table tops we mounted, to shoot from, made good shade(with some cardboard), which we enjoyed. This spot yielded about 68 dead, that we could find. We lined them up by the road for the rancher to see. Maybe he will welcome us back next year.

This was after a very slow morning mentioned above. Our best day let us get about 92.

I think we shot about 700-800 rounds in three days of shooting, with about 230 dead (for sure). Most of them were inside 400 yards. We had some reports of hogs that needed shot. But all we found were two really small ones at about 10 pounds each. We did see some big tracks near some water.
